There is
a good reason why some educators are reluctant to let young people read The
Hunger Games ("If
we stop telling kids what to read, they might start reading again," Jan.
10).
The
Hunger Games reveals the philosophy behind the Department of Education's Race
to the Top. Distract the oppressed by forcing them to compete against each
other to gain a few small prizes from the oppressor.
